The difference between web 2 and web 3
From inception hitherto, the internet has experienced exponential growth. From web 1 which was basically made of static pages. The limitations in web 1 let to the advent of web 2 which incorporated interaction, that enable users to interact with web apps, you can see that when using apps like Facebook, twitter, blogs and ecommerce sites etc.
In web 2.0 the need for a central body or database to manage users data is needed, and overtime we have heard of companies which users entrust their datas to, were reportedly said to have sold them to big corporations for some huge amount of money, without users prior knowledge, hence the saying "data is the new gold", with all these controversies going on then the need of having a decentralized system to enable users have full control of there data, let to the development of web 3, which you can call the 3rd generation internet. With this development there is no need for a central authority since entities can have ownership of their data and decide who uses it and who to share it with.
While web 2 uses a centraliszed system, Web 3 uses a distributed ledger technology for resolving the concerns of trust that were evident in web 2.
While web2 enable information soarting that enable users to collectively retrieve and classify infotmation, web 3 enables semantic web functionality which allows but humans and machines understand the contents.
While web2 focused on community development, web 3 focused on.empowering individual users.
Web 2 uses technologies like Ajax, JavaScript, html, CSS , while for web 3 is smart applications based on Machine learning and Artificial intelligence.
